Kelly Saunders Nature Valley

Since the first time we saw the Kelly Saunders Nature Valley TV commercials a lot of mountain bikers wondered who is she? Is Kelly Saunders a famous mountain biker or just an actress in a commercial. I searched the Internet for answers and it is as intriguing as UFO sightings. People offer evidence to support the fact that they believe she's only an actress. They say things like "Mountain bikers don't intentionally lock up their brakes like that; we try not to let that happen".

On the other hand many mountain bikers actually do carry Nature Valley Trail Mix Granola bars with them on a ride. More interestingly Nature Vally is often a sponsor of Mountain Biking events. Logically it seems like sponsoring mountain biking events and showing off a well known mountain biker would associate your product with a winner. Therefore it seems that Kelly Saunders should be a real mountain biker and hopefully one who has won first place at some Nature Valley sponsored events. So the question is why can't we find Kelly Saunders when we search Nature Valley sponsored events.

Many people want to know what bike Kelly Saunders rides because it can't be clearly seen in the commercial. On one blog a man posts this question:

You know, the cute blonde in the Nature Valley Granola Bar commercial who blazes through dreamy Colorado singletrack. All I can make out is that she has SRAM XO drivetrain.

Anybody have an idea what kind of bike? Components? Just curious...

There seems to be a lot of discussion on this topic and people have been able to figure out some info by watching the commercial over and over on youtube. One blogger posts that he is sure she's riding a Gary Fisher Hi-Fi Mountain Bike.

Is Kelly Saunders an actress or a mountain biker? The answer is yes!

Kelly Saunders is only the name used by actress Luba Bocian in the Nature Valley TV commercials. However her resume on LubaBocian.com lists many hobbys including Mountain Biking.

As the owner of an ad agency I always thought she must be an actress but I couldn't be certain until I did the research to track her down.
